EQUIPMENT GUIDE

Options, with a purpose.
Not a shopping list.

See what different equipment can contribute, then explore what fits your home and priorities.

These are potential configurations. Compatibility and availability are assessed for the property; this is not a list of products currently sold by Endurous.

Electricity, storage & charging

Start with how and when the household uses electricity. Equipment becomes useful when it serves a specific goal.

Supported controls & meteringSee usage and coordinate flexible loads.

When it could be useful

A first step when useful equipment is already installed.

What a property review considers

Control access, tariff details and which loads can safely move.

Solar generationProduce electricity at the property.

When it could be useful

Daytime demand or a plan for storing or exporting surplus.

What a property review considers

Roof or site, shading, expected output and connection requirements.

Battery storageKeep electricity for a later time or selected backup loads.

When it could be useful

Shifting useful solar or supporting an essential-load plan.

What a property review considers

Usable energy, output power, reserve, compatible backup hardware and installation cost.

EV chargingPrepare the vehicle by a chosen time.

When it could be useful

Flexible charging around rates, solar and other household needs.

What a property review considers

Vehicle availability, charger support, daily energy and departure time.

Optional generator, micro-CHP or SOFCConsider an additional electricity source; some systems can also provide useful heat.

When it could be useful

A property with a specific resilience or combined energy need.

What a property review considers

Fuel, emissions, ventilation, maintenance, transfer controls and useful heat demand.

Heating, cooling & hot water

Compare the comfort need and the building before choosing a system. Thermal storage is an option, not a requirement.

Existing HVAC with supported controlsCoordinate current heating and cooling equipment.

When it could be useful

Improving timing or preferences while keeping a suitable existing system.

What a property review considers

Equipment condition, control compatibility and the way rooms respond.

Heat pumpMove heat to provide space heating and, with suitable equipment, cooling.

When it could be useful

A new installation or an appropriate replacement.

What a property review considers

Climate performance, capacity, electrical service and air or water distribution.

Zone comfort controlsGive different areas their own comfort preferences and schedules.

When it could be useful

Rooms with different routines, sun exposure or temperature needs.

What a property review considers

Compatible thermostats, sensors, dampers, indoor units or hydronic valves; minimum flow; equipment capacity; and installation costs.

Hydronic distributionCarry heat through water to suitable emitters, such as floor loops or an air-handler coil.

When it could be useful

A home designed for water-based heat distribution.

What a property review considers

Flow, temperatures, zone controls and the heating or cooling arrangement.

Thermal storageStore useful heat or cooling for another time.

When it could be useful

Separating when energy is used from when compatible comfort loads need it.

What a property review considers

Usable temperature range, storage losses, space, pumps and controls.

Domestic hot-water equipmentProvide heated water for taps and showers.

When it could be useful

Matching recovery and storage to the household routine.

What a property review considers

Demand, recovery, compatible controls and temperature safeguards.

Water supply & treatment

Reserve, pressure, treatment and hot water have different jobs. Select them around the actual supply and needs.

Water reserveHold a usable supply, such as a 100+ gallon concept sized for the home.

When it could be useful

A property where continuity of supply is a priority.

What a property review considers

Space, turnover, tank suitability and municipal connection protection.

Booster pump & pressure controlsMove stored water at suitable pressure and flow.

When it could be useful

A reserve or supply arrangement that needs pumping.

What a property review considers

Inlet conditions, noise, flow, power and potable-water suitability.

Filtration or other treatmentAddress a specific water-quality concern.

When it could be useful

Testing or local information identifies a treatment need.

What a property review considers

Which contaminants the product treats, ongoing checks and cartridge care.

UV treatment where appropriateDisinfect suitably prepared water.

When it could be useful

A design calls for microbial treatment.

What a property review considers

Water clarity, pre-filtration, flow rating, power and maintenance.

Air quality & ventilation

Filtration, ventilation and monitoring complement one another. They perform different jobs.

Intake filtrationFilter incoming outdoor air before it reaches the air handler.

When it could be useful

A designed ventilation path where suitable particle filtration is useful.

What a property review considers

Filter efficiency, airflow, pressure drop and replacement access.

Energy recovery ventilation (ERV)Exchange indoor and outdoor air while recovering some heat and moisture.

When it could be useful

Refreshing indoor air while reducing the energy lost through ventilation.

What a property review considers

Balanced airflow, intake and exhaust locations, filtration, humidity, climate and compatible controls.

Room sensorsObserve available readings such as particles, CO₂, humidity and supported gases.

When it could be useful

Understanding how rooms change and checking the response to an action.

What a property review considers

What is actually measured, placement, calibration and supported data.

Central air filtrationReduce airborne particles as air passes through suitable filters.

When it could be useful

A compatible ducted system and a maintained filter path.

What a property review considers

Filtration alone does not remove every pollutant; airflow and pollutant sources matter.

Connectivity & essential power

A useful network serves the household, with Endurous as one part of it.

Router, switch & Wi-FiConnect the home’s everyday devices.

When it could be useful

Stable local communications and household coverage.

What a property review considers

Coverage, wired routes, capacity and supported integrations.

Local coordination hardwareRun supported home-control functions locally.

When it could be useful

Reducing dependence on a remote connection for core functions.

What a property review considers

Equipment interfaces, power, data access and behavior when a service is unavailable.

Optional internet fallbackProvide another communications path where available.

When it could be useful

A household with a clear continuity need.

What a property review considers

Coverage, service costs, switching behavior and backup power.

Power for selected network or security equipmentInclude useful devices in the home’s backup priorities.

When it could be useful
